Tones may also play when the device is powered on or off, when a user logs in, and when a mobile device is connected.
Perhaps the most dreaded sound is played when an error or fault occurs—however, with modern Xerox machines, these errors are generally resolved quite easily and simply indicate that the device requires some kind of manual intervention from the user, such as ensuring that the correct paper size has been loaded.

While the precise method for adjusting sound settings will vary from one device to another—you can visit the official Xerox support pages for instructions for your specific unit—generally speaking, you’ll find the sound settings for your device within a submenu of the primary options.
In the audio settings, you’ll have the choice of adjusting the volume level of notifications, disabling sounds entirely, or changing which events prompt audio notifications to play. In some cases, for example, a user may only want a sound to be emitted when an error occurs, choosing to disable sounds for more common print events.
Changes made to the audio settings should persist between restarts and shutdowns.
