In this post, we’re going to take a closer look at one of the most popular tools the platform comes with. This tool gives users the ability to scan their handwritten notes with their Xerox device and automatically generate an editable, digital document of those same notes. Fortunately, those days are over, thanks to the Xerox Workflow Central feature which empowers users to convert handwritten notes to fully editable digital documents. This is thanks to highly advanced optical character recognition (OCR) technology. If you’ve worked with OCR documents before, you might remember that in the early days, “OCR’d” documents weren’t that great—but the technology has become so good these days that it’s now possible to OCR even somewhat sloppy handwriting.

Yes, You Can Convert Handwritten Notes as Part of a Combination Workflow Too
What makes Xerox Workflow Central a true powerhouse of productivity is the platform’s ability to set up what are called “combination workflows”. In these workflows, users can pass a document through two different tools in the suite.
For example, imagine that you’ve converted your handwritten notes to a digital document. You can have Workflow Central automatically “send” that newly created document to another tool, such as the audio converter feature, which automatically converts any document into a read-out-loud audio file.
What this means is that it’s entirely possible to not only have an editable digital document of your handwritten notes, you could also listen to them if desired. The process of doing something like this in Workflow Central is also very quick; your most frequently used combination workflows can be predetermined, so it’s easy to repeat the same set of tasks anytime you need them done.
